LAUKKU had an honor and pleasure from August 28, 2026 till September 7, 2026, to host at its residency Viktoriia Khoroshylova. Viktoriia is movement artist, choreographer, and theatre maker form Odesa, Ukraine. As a movement artist she is working in the contemporary art field together with museums, galleries, independent dance projects in Ukraine and internationally. Since 2017 she was the founding member of the performative group P.L.O.T. based in the Museum of Odesa Modern Art.

On September 6, 2026 Viktoriia also gave her solo performance “The Story of a Body” at Dance House in Valmiera.

Viktoriia about LAUKKU residency:

“Staying at LAUKKU is like dancing with healing, inspiration, and harmony.

To discover the history of the place in every corner and beneath every tree; to sleep surrounded by captivating paintings; to feel its spirit awaken something within me and inspire my artistic identity; to wake up my inner dance every morning. The library is so rich that I want to read every book on its shelves.

The silence and sound of the rain, the whisper of the wind, the lush green, and the delicate balance between human care and wild nature — the peace outside brings healing within.

I sound poetic because of the harmony between the rhythm of the space and my inner rhythm — a harmony I found at LAUKKU.

I’m grateful for the dance, care, delicacy, and hospitality of the LAUKKU people and Spirit.”

Thank you, Viktoriia, and see you soon!
